Project Description
The Harlem Renaissance is an overlooked period of American history that defined itself as an era where black intellectuals and creatives established their own African-American identity. The movement envisioned to combat the prejudiced and racist caricatures of the day, while also maintaining a sense of black pride. Harlem became a center where creativity and self-expression flourished and the culture was created by and for African-Americans.
The Harlem Renaissance Project aims to illustrate, educate, and bring attention to the Harlem Renaissance through engaging and visually appealing methods that are used in this day and age, like: augmented reality, social media, etc.
